vegan mayonnaise

vegan, gluten free
After you try this you will wonder why you haven't made your own all along. It’s way cheaper than buying vegenaise and it really is stupidly simple. Anyone with a blender can do this. Trust me. By making your own mayo you can also control exactly what you put in it. Trying to eat less salt? Add less salt and add more spices. Do you prefer spicy mayo? Add in some chilli powder, garlic. Get in your kitchen and start playing! Although vegan mayonnaise is healthier and cholesterol-free.

You only need 4 ingredients to make this recipe: oil, plant based milk, apple cider vinegar and sea salt, that’s all! It’s ready in 2 minutes and tastes even better than traditional mayonnaise.

You can make it thicker adding more oil or more watery adding more milk, it’s totally up to you! You can change taste adding garlic, nutritional yeast, ect.

I always use soy milk to make vegan mayonnaise. I prefer to use non refined sunflower oil, but you can use other types of oils. You can use lemon juice instead of the apple cider vinegar.

Ingredients:

200ml unrefined sunflower oil
100ml unsweetened soy milk
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon nutritional yeast
1 clove garlic (peel and shred)
sea salt to taste

Method:

Place soy milk, sea salt, garlic, nutritional yeast and vinegar in a blender. Place the lid on the blender and turn to slow.

Take the middle part of the blender’s lid out while the blender is still running and slowly pour in the oil.

Place the lid back on and blend until the mayo is thick and creamy.
